SalesLoft Product Release: Cadence Templates and Email Pane

February 1, 2016

We’re back at it with two new feature updates to the Salesloft platform. Without further adieu, let’s dive in.

First up: Cadence Templates.

Cadence templates will now live independently of saved templates in the templates tab. Why the change?

Historically, when you copied a cadence, you would also create copies of all of the templates within the cadence. The end result was a template list made up of needless copies and scattered analytics.

So how does this new feature help? Upon creation of a cadence, copy of a cadence template, or copy of an entire cadence, templates will not be saved by default.

Here is how it works:

When you add an email step to a cadence, the “name” on the cadence view, and “name” on the template page, are synced and will update in both places — if the template is linked.

Linking a template is simple. Once you’ve created a new template, click on the option selector and choose “Save Template.” This will create and link the cadence to “your templates” and allow access on the templates tab and in email template drop downs.

How do you know if your cadence template is linked to a saved template? On the right side of a cadence template in the cadence List View, you will see a “saved” icon if the template is linked.

Now, what happens when you copy a saved template, you ask? A copy of this template will be added on the same day in your cadence. It will — by default — not be saved. Users can edit name, day, subject line, body, and then save the template, if so desired.

Copying an entire cadence will no longer create copies of all the templates associated with that cadence. If you’d like to link the cadence templates back to the saved template, you can do so by editing the template, and choosing the saved version of the same template.

Once linked, editing the cadence template or the saved template will update all of the linked templates.

The rollout of the new cadence template feature will allow for cleaner and more intelligent management of the templates you care about most. This also lays the groundwork necessary for A/B testing and admin-controlled master templates.

We’ve been listening to your feedback, and we’re extremely excited to deliver the functionality and flexibility that you’ve asked for.

Which brings us to the second feature update: the new Email Pane.

In Q4, we asked ourselves how we could improve and add value to our workflow engine. The desire was to increase efficiency, and empower our users to make smarter decisions. A lot of time was spent talking to our customers and distilling down what would help deliver more effectiveness.

We came to the realization our users wanted more flexibility.

Two weeks ago, we introduced the new Call Pane, and we’re excited to release the second piece that will culminate into an entirely new workflow experience.

Imagine the ability to navigate to any page, profile, or company while executing your activities without any interruptions in the workflow.

Introducing the new Email Pane:

Users can now email their prospects, one at time, and then navigate to any page in the application. Minimize your draft, continue executing your process, and then finish the email when you’re ready. This feature was built to mimic the your most familiar email workflow.

No matter what page you’re on, you can quickly navigate to the person you communicating with, quickly and easily, alongside the person icon on the “compose” window. You can now easily access their company profile, coworkers, or any other relevant information while composing your message.

It’s week three of a 4-week all-out push to deliver more value to you, our customers, than ever before. Two weeks ago, we pushed out 9 new features in 7 days, and just last week, we pushed 16 enhancements requested by you.

Now hold onto your hats, because the next couple weeks are going to blow you away.

I cannot say it enough: we’re dedicated to improving the lives of our customers — and each of these features embody that dedication. That said, the improvements and releases don’t stop here. We’ve got more big features on the way, so stay tuned next week for another product update.

That’s all for this week, it’s time to get back to work!
