With an unstoppable team and the best customers in the industry, it’s an exciting time at Salesloft. Today, we celebrate another milestone as we roll out the red carpet to welcome our new Chief Product Officer, Ellie Fields.

Ellie is a seasoned product veteran with a strong analytics and intelligence background, most recently as Senior Vice President of Product Development at Tableau. Ellie graduated from Rice University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Policy Studies, and also holds an MBA from Stanford.

Based in Seattle, Ellie joins our west coast Lofters and will lead our engineering and product teams. She’ll be focused on bringing our product vision to life, leading with an expertise and passion for helping people do their jobs better, faster, and easier, while building on our mission to delight customers with category-leading, outcome-driving products.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Ellie and discuss why she made the move to Salesloft, what she’s most excited about working on, and how she decompresses when she’s off the clock.

Welcome to Salesloft! What drew you to join our ranks at this point in your career?

It’s always good to work on a project that helps people do their job better. I love to be involved with software that makes people smarter, more productive, and more effective. Salesloft has a lot of potential to do even more of that.

At the core, I look at Salesloft and see the company applying technology and data to a very human engagement cycle -- sales and revenue. In doing so, they make salespeople and companies more effective, and they help the buyer. There’s a lot of room for innovation here, and that’s really exciting.

On top of that, I was really attracted to the team and the culture. There’s a lot of passion, pushing hard, and working together.

What is your proudest career moment thus far?

Being part of building the team and a company at Tableau was really exciting. Seeing people grow, products roll out, all the pieces come together -- it’s a really unique chance to build. I think that’s what I’m most proud of.

Tell us about your home life. What do you like to do in your free time?

I have an eleven-year-old daughter and a nine-year-old son. We’re a fairly outdoorsy family; my husband, kids, and I love hiking, biking, kayaking, and skiing. Anything outdoors, we love to do together.

I’ll often try to grab a run, a swim or a bike in the middle or the end of the workday. It keeps me sane, it’s how I think. I need it to stay grounded, and honestly, I do my best thinking when I’m moving.

What are you most excited to hit the ground running with?

I think I’m most excited to dive in with the customers -- understanding the value they’re getting, how they’re using the product, and what they wish they had. That’s always the core of working in product and engineering: understanding what’s happening with the customer and what we can do better.
